(Koror, Palau – December 17, 2025) – IP&E Palau announced the launch of “Fueling the Future, Preserving Paradise,” a multifaceted campaign designed to support conservation, ecosystem stewardship, and human resource development across Palau. The initiative reinforces IP&E’s commitment to sustainability and community partnership by uplifting three key benefactors: the Palau Conservation Society (PCS), the Palau International Coral Reef Center (PICRC), and the Palau HR Professionals Group. The campaign was formally launched in the presence of the President of Palau Surangel S. Whipps Jr., underscoring the national importance of sustainability, environmental protection, and people-centered development.
This initiative builds upon IP&E’s “Fueling Excellence” strategy, that aims to partner with Palau to sustain what matters most to the community.
Acknowledging Palau’s deep respect for their natural environment, IP&E is committed to create opportunities to empower the community entrusted with its care. Through this effort, IP&E aims to connect everyday customer engagement with long-term community resilience and environmental stewardship.
“Palau’s environment is its lifeline, and its people are at its heart,” said Ricky Altonaga, Senior Marketing Director for IP&E. “Our partnership with PCS, PICRC, and the Palau HR Professionals Group reflect our belief that protecting ecosystems and investing in local talent go hand in hand. This campaign creates an opportunity for people to support this cause when fueling within the Shell Palau network. Through this campaign, we are advancing a shared mission to sustain what matters most to Palau.”
A Strengthened Commitment to Palau’s Future
As part of its broader sustainability strategy, IP&E is also upgrading Shell stations with energy-efficient lighting, sustainable design improvements, and operational innovations aimed at reducing carbon footprint and waste. The partnerships reflect IP&E’s three-fold commitment to environment, economy, and engagement, fueling both the island and the talent of its people.
“Palau’s environment is the foundation of our culture, identity, and livelihood.” said Elbuchel Sadang, Executive Director of the Palau Conservation Society. “By choosing to invest in conservation through this collaboration, IP&E demonstrates an important willingness to support sustainable practices and contribute to the safeguarding of our forests, reefs and marine ecosystem.”
“When people are empowered, conservation thrives,” adds Roxanne Siual Blesam, CEO of the Palau International Coral Reef Center. “IP&E’s commitment to our shared values helps ensure that Palau’s reefs remain resilient, our communities stay engaged, and our young professionals have the tools they need to lead with confidence.”
A Multi-Sector Model for Stewardship
“Fueling the Future, Preserving Paradise” demonstrates the strength of collaboration between the private sector, scientific institutions, and community leaders. By uplifting organizations focused on conservation, marine science, and human resource development, the initiative highlights a holistic approach to protecting Palau’s environment and supporting its people.
“These waters have united us far longer than anything else,” said John Rivera, Director of HR at IP&E and CPL. “It is time that we as an island community come back together, and it is time to support one another. Investing in people is part of ensuring that the environment remains protected for the next generation.”
